Baer’s Rug & Linoleum Company was established by Claire & Al Baer in 1939 as a “Mom & Pop Furniture & Flooring Store” located in Franklin Square, New York. Baer’s prospered during World War II using manufacturer allotments to furnish flooring to numerous homes being constructed in Franklin Square.
Baer’s Rug & Linoleum became a second-generation company when Al Baer Jr. joined the company in 1966. Al Baer Jr. took the company in a new direction to pursue commercial and industrial flooring opportunities in the tri-state area.
In 2001, Baer’s Rug & Linoleum became a third-generation family business when Al Baer III joined the company. Al Baer III continued to pursue the commercial avenue and expanded their portfolio to include expertise in Health Care, Higher Education and Corporate. Al Baer III is currently serving as the President & CEO of Baer’s Rug.
With over 85 years of experience, Baer’s Rug is certified for premium commercial flooring installation by the Floor Coverer’s Installation Board. In addition, Baer’s Rug is a longstanding member of StarNet Worldwide Commercial Flooring Partnership and FCICA (Floor Coverers Installation Contractor’s Association).
